This recent review from TheSmokingTire makes me question why I’d ever want to sell mine. It’s a good one-take and I recommend watching the whole thing. Let’s discuss MR2s, what are your favorite upgrades, stories, driving experiences?

I like the gen pictured visually but I’ve never been in one. I’m 6'3" with a tall torso so I probably wouldn’t fit in one but I think they are pretty cool but wouldn’t pay what the selling price is for a good one these days. Not that I can buy much anyway. I could barely afford my $3700 Corolla.

I want a MK3 MR2 with a 2ZZ badly. I mean in the hilariously cheap world of UK used cars, less than £2000 for a 200HP mid-engined sports car is a steal. Just need to find a 6 speed car with a hardtop.

Farah has the same build and fits fine.

Wanted one since I was 16. A few years ago I got a great condition one for change. 3 months later it threw a rod through the crankcase. I want another one......

I bought an AW11 when I was 20 as a car for college and loved it. Had to sell it after 2 years because my commute through Philly would have killed it and it was starting to get rusty underneath. I’ll be buying another one in 2-3 years regardless of how much they go up in price and hopefully I can find a supercharged one.

A friend of mine (and also the cage builder that did my cage in the racecar) had a 1st Gen MR-2 that was build into an SCCA ITA car. We had a couple of pretty epic battles with it and my Integra in ITA, including once doing multiple laps side by side without touching each other. I drove it once in a practice session. It was a hoot!

I have one and I love it to bits. My biggest regret is living in the city now, and being unable to find a chance to stretch its legs. Lake Mountain, I’ll get to you one of these days.
I’ve had no great stories with it, but a few good drives and good road trips
